One of the most important questions people as me is what is the time frame for a bankruptcy in Florida.  While the time frame for each case is different because it depends on how long it takes to draft a bankruptcy petition generally it goes as follows:

  1. Schedule an appoint for a free consultation at Shmucher Law, PL
    1. Call 954.309.5559 or 305.741.5553 to schedule an appointment in any of our five office locations:  Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Plantation, and Sunrise Florida.
    2. Bring all necessary documents to the initial consultation
    3. Review your case with the bankruptcy lawyer and begin to fill out the bankruptcy petition.
    4. Approximately seven days or less after the initial consultation the bankruptcy petition will be ready to review, sign, and make any necessary changes.  Once all the changes are ready the petition can be filed.
    5. File the petition.
    6. Approximately 30 to 45 days after the bankruptcy petition has been filed the debtor will need to appear in court for their meeting of the creditors (341 meeting).
    7. 60 days after your meeting of the creditors or about 90 days after your bankruptcy has been filed you will receive your discharge in the mail, and all the debts on your bankruptcy petition will likely be discharged.

So in short the timeline for a successful chapter 7 bankruptcy filing in Florida takes about  three months from start to finish.

Attorney Shmucher is the best Bankruptcy Attorney in South Florida. I was in a financial mess and wanted to apply for bankruptcy Ch-7 and met several bankruptcy attorneys in Miami. Each one told me different things, different rates for filing, timeline, etc.. Though most of the attornies gave information about how the bankruptcy thing works, nobody gave me exact details of the proceedings, what I can expect, how things work etc. Also other attorneys didn’t tell me exact rates they would charge, it was anywhere between $2100 to $3200. I wanted to file ASAP, for which one attorney said they can do it in premium processing for which he will charge an additional $500 !! But when I saw attorney Ofer Shmucher’s website, he had specified the rates for the petition in website itself and also several details about how things work, which impressed me to visit him for a free consultation. I met him in his Ft.Lauderdale office, and the he explained me the in & out’s of the procedure. I was so worried about filing and the implications, but his explanation gave confidence & courage and he told he will help me file at the earliest as long as I get him all the paperwork required. I paid about $1550 and submitted all the documents he asked me and in about 4 days he filed my petition in Miami court, and got me a 341meeting date in 38 days. Before 341 meeting date, I met him again, and he explained what questions I will be asked, and what to answer. Believe it or not, I was asked the same questions, and he was also present with me in that meeting which finished in less than 3 minutes !! I was given a form and sent back. I had to take an online course, and that’t it.. In about 79 days, I received a mail from court that my case has been discharged !!!! If not for Ofer, it would have been difficult for me as I wanted to file sooner, cheaper and effectively. He said he don’t charge as much as others as he doesn’t have overhead cost like others, which is true. I have seen him working on his laptop, and he does finishes things right in front of you, and gets the work done. During this painful financial period, I have had very good experience working with an attorney like him who has helped me to discharge my debts. I would highly recommend Ofer for whoever want to file bankrupcy. First meet this person, and you will realise by yourself how straight he and his work is, no beating around the bush, direct answers and effective work. I wish attorney Ofer Shmucher the very best in his career, and I hope he will continue his good work and help the needy. Thanks Ofer !!
